I never used the crappy trackpads on any of my Windows notebooks, but I have never not used the trackpad on my Macbook. Probably the biggest factor I'd say one should consider is what one's colleagues and friends use it's useful to have others help out who have experienced the same issues and challenges, and not to be the odd-man-out.A lot of the comparisons between Macs and Windows that make Windows look bad are comparisons between a cheap budget Windows machine and a Mac it's more fair to compare a well-designed Windows machine to the Mac, and suddenly the price is very comparable.Having said that, Macbooks are just very well built and very well designed. Not as great as some Apple fanboys want you to think, and not always as much greater than a Windows machine, and with some shortcomings compared to the Windows machine, but consider your own situation and don't be afraid to go Mac, even if you spend a little more money.
